Shading

ALIPLAST® system can be completed with any of the company’s shading, shutter, blind or concrete systems which are obtained from the market based on the demands of the customer and are attached to the conservatory . The necessary cables for motor-driven control can be put into the profiles and beams during the installation. For conservatoryies with shutters we use MODERN roof system’s gutter profile that is built together with hidden shutter cabinet.

Do conservatories need shading?

Not necessarily! A conservatorie facing north, in the shade of a building or tree, does not need shading. But the more exposed the conservatorie is to the sun, the more important shading is. The most important thing is shading the roof, but there are also many solutions for sun protection on the sides.

Can all conservatories be shaded?

Shades are typically manufactured for rectangular surfaces. For other shapes, expensive and unique solutions can be used. In the case of spectacular, arched conservatories, the roof consists of triangular elements, which cannot be protected from the sun, or cannot be protected from it very expensively.

Can only the roof be shaded on conservatories?

There are many different solutions for sun protection on the sides. While external shading is recommended for the roof to prevent the greenhouse effect, this is not always the goal for side shading, so internal, privacy-blocking solutions are also a good solution. (roller blinds, roller blinds, venetian blinds, strip curtains…)

Is there internal roof shading for conservatories?

Yes, there are so-called canopies or sun sails, but these do not protect against the greenhouse effect. It is advisable to provide external shading on the roof so that the sun's rays do not reach the roof surface, thus preventing the greenhouse effect from developing.

Does glass or polycarbonate have a greater greenhouse effect?

Polycarbonate diffuses sunlight into the interior, but it also lets it through, so the greenhouse effect phenomenon must also be taken into account in the case of polycarbonate. Just as there are solutions for reducing the greenhouse effect with glass (reflective glass or tinted glass), there are technologies for polycarbonate that transmit less sunlight (opal, tinted polycarbonate), but these solutions also allow less light into the conservatory, which is lacking in autumn, winter and spring, when conservatory owners can take advantage of this phenomenon
